Semaphore aspects are temporarily not shown, but are described where they differed from color light aspects. Semaphore signals, where staggered, are shown with the top arm to the right and the lower arm to the left of the signal mast. Color light signals are shown with the opposite direction of stagger.

Proceed approaching the next signal at Limited Speed. Train exceeding 60 M.P.H. must at once reduce to that speed. Reduction to 60 M.P.H. must commence before passing signal and must be completed before accepting a more favorable indication.

281C gf/r gf Limited Clear

Proceed: Limited speed within interlocking limits.

281D yf/r yf Limited - Approach

Proceed at limited speed preparing to stop at next signal.

282   y/g Approach Medium

Proceed approaching next signal at Medium Speed. Train exceeding limited speed must at once reduce to that speed. Reduction to limited speed must commence before passing signal and must be completed before accepting a more favorable indication.

282A y/y Advance Approach

Proceed preparing to stop at second signal. Train exceeding limited speed must at once reduce to that speed. Reduction to limited speed must commence before passing signal and must be completed before accepting a more favorable indication.

Proceed approaching next signal at slow speed. Train exceeding medium speed must at once reduce to that speed. [Note: number plated signal shown without staggered arms.]

285 Approach

Proceed prepared to stop at next signal. Train exceeding medium speed must at once reduce to that speed. Reduction to medium speed must commence before passing signal and must be completed before accepting a more favorable indication.

Proceed, prepared to stop at next signal. Trains exceeding medium speed must at once reduce to that speed.

Location - Upon the right of and adjoining the track to which it refers, approximately 7,000 feet [= 2134 m -MDB] from the point to be protected.

Approach Slow Speed Board at not exceeding speed shown on Reduce Speed Board. (Speed may be indicted as 10, 15, 30, or 50 as required.)

295A [reflective yellow diamond, black S] Slow Speed Board

Location - At the point to be protected, upon the right of and adjoining the track to which it refers.

Speed between Slow Speed Board and Resume Speed Board must not exceed speed shown on Reduce Speed Board.

295B [reflective green square, white R] Resume Speed Board

Location - Upon the right of and adjoining the track to which it refers, and 50 feet in advance of the point protected.

Resume speed after rear of train has passed this board.

NOTE - Flags of prescribed color may be substituted for Boards when necessary.

     When yellow Flags are substituted, orthe Reduce Speed Board does not designate the speed limit, speed must be reduced to 10 miles per hour.
