West Seneca Branch

West Seneca Br., 1968, G.O. 417
Technically a Penn Central General Order, but this was still placed into the PRR Employee Timetable, as a new ETT was not published until sometime after April 28 of this year.

If I am interpreting a map of Buffalo correctly, this branch seems to come off the PRR west of Union Rd, and between the Aurora Expwy. and Indian Church Rd in West Seneca. It then proceeds southwestwardly, crossing over/under I-90 (N.Y. State Thruway) just north of the toll section and US 219 junction. A L.V. branch, which had been paralleling the free, north-south portion I-90, joins the PRR branch, as did at one time a NYC branch from Gardenville Yard. All 3 roads then parallel the toll section of I-90, crossing Aurora Rd. and the B&O. These latter two crossings are shown on the G.O. diagram.

LV and PRR then turn due west, while NYC continues SW. All approach the lakefront in the ara of Blasdell Jct., an extremely complicated junction area where the NYC appears to fly over the parellel lines of NKP, Erie, and its own Cleveland main line, finally to connect with the last of these.
