NOTE

Map 1, p. 29/30 (176K)

Pennsylvania. Showing routes surveyed by Colonel Charles L. Schlatter, 1835-1840.

A very nice pseudocontour map of the (original) PRR's (i.e., Harrisburg to Pittsburgh) route through Pennsylvania. The map is pasted in as 2 pages of the book; thus, it does not fold out well and this was the best I could do without cracking the book's spine entirely. This puppy was 5 Megs (16 grays, 300 dpi, uncompressed TIFF) before editing and conversion to GIF. I removed some of the grays close to white and black, leaving the middle ones.
